Venus Meets Ceres in Leo

Beneath the Roar of Rintrah, Lies an Ancient Grief…

Venus is slowly gaining on the Asteroid Ceres in Leo. The two will meet in an exact conjunction on 8/21. As they meet, they are still making a Trine to Jupiter in Aries, really magnifying the intensity of the energies. Expanding our capacity to travel to the depths. Feeding us new insights. Informing us of new ways to hold IT ALL.

Ceres rules over cycles. Cycles of the seasons, cycles of women, cycles of nature, cycles of grief.

Venus rules the heart, our values, and attachments. In her cycle, she is sitting just above the gates to the Underworld. It feels like no small thing that Venus and Ceres meet here, at the threshold of our final disrobing. Hovering just above the doorways of descent.

The two both have ties to the Deep, the Abzu, the Duat, the Hell Realms. Where we cycle through the depths. Where our ego, and identity is totally stripped from us, and we ourselves are reborn, more authentic. More embodied in our essence. Less indoctrinated by the world.

Both are Death Doulas. Though Ceres herself points to the Depths of Grief. The Unresolvable, unconscionable, kind of grief. Grief undigested. Her message is that no life can GROW, where grief is suppressed. Suppressed beneath our righteousness, our “goodness”, our civility, and yes, even our rage.

As these two meet, they ask us to feel into the depths of our hearts. To resurrect any grief that has been turned to stone. Allowing the vitality of pure grief to move through us.

As we are in the sign of Leo, the grief may release from the depths with the roar of Rintrah…Because sometimes undigested grief has a sound.

Blake says this in the Marriage of Heaven and Hell…

“Without contraries is no progression. Attraction and repulsion, reason and energy, love and hate, are necessary to human existence.

From these contraries spring what the religious call Good and Evil. Good is the passive that obeys reason; Evil is the active springing from Energy.

Good is heaven. Evil is hell.”

These contraries, these dualities are precisely the place where most of our undigested grief is stuck. On one side of the polarity. We often reason our way into suppressing the vitality of our grief… go in and find it there.

The movement of old grief will warm your heart with sweet memories of a thing once loved, once desired, once clung too. Because grief is often just love that had no place to go…

TWO ASIDES…

*This all feels especially relevant for me. We will soon have Venus in the Underworld, and Mars retrograde in Gemini. Really dredging up the wounds of our inner child, giving us an opportunity to transmute all that is too heavy to carry. 2022 is an especially transformative year if we are willing to lean into and ride the waves.

* Rintrah is a character in William Blake's mythology, representing the just wrath of the prophet. Rintrah first appears in The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: "Rintrah roars and shakes his fires in the burdened air" shows him personifying revolutionary wrath. He is later grouped together with other spirits of rebellion in The Vision of the Daughters of Albion.

Rintrah, as a character of “Just Wrath of Rebellion” is an Archetype especially active in the collective right now. With the strong energies of Mars & Uranus. Just remember, RAGE simmers below “Just Wrath”, and underneath it all, is GRIEF.
