Bittersweet Symphony Musings…

This week I was really struck by a passage in an article I read by David Sirota. It quintessentialized the manifestation of energies when they are experienced by a society entranced by what is playing out on the screen, gripped by fear, running a program that ‘others’ their neighbors, and convinces them of their inability to experience liberation. He uses the movie Ghostbusters II, to illustrate his point.

“In the film, the heroes discover a river of pink slime flowing deep below Manhattan, which is causing all sorts of mayhem up on the surface. This toxic sludge, they learn, is the physical manifestation of negative psychological energy — hate, loathing, rage and nihilism.

In the Ghostbusters’ words: “Negative human emotions are materializing in the form of a viscous, psychoreactive plasm with explosive supernormal potential.” It is “mood slime” that “feeds on bad vibes.” It is controlled by the supervillain Vigo the Carpathian, and it is an existential threat to the city and to human relationships. Indeed, at one point the Ghostbusters almost come to blows with each other, only to realize their argument is happening because they are covered in the slime that is evoking negativity. “All the bad feelings, all the hate, the anger and vibes of this city is turning into the sludge,” says Winston.

This is a glorious example of the current cosmic symphony. While it is science fiction at its core it demonstrates things have been proven about consciousness. How our emotions have the power to manifest in physical reality, and that unacknowledged emotions can become toxic, and poisonous, with the power to run us.

We have a powerful conjunction between Uranus and Mars that will be exact tomorrow at noon. Mars is a planet concerned with power, and when it meets Uranus, the planet of liberation, and rebellion, we have energy that is generally supportive of what we saw earlier in the month. It has the power to drive polarity to extremes. The positive thing about exaggerated polarity is that it helps things become crystal clear. The polarities themselves often become characters of themselves in their absurdity and they help us to realize quickly how out of balance we’ve become. Uranus/ Mars, aspects are energetically explosive and mobile, driving us to confront how ego identified we are, clinging to our masks in order to feel safe and in control. They push us to look at our unconscious and undeveloped reactions to external stimulation, helping us to find a more authentic inner security that allows us to come back to source.

The United States is currently experiencing it’s first Pluto return which will last for the next several years. But even if you are not in the USA, 2020 was a year of Plutonic underworld energy as it met both Saturn and Jupiter in Capricorn, the sign of government, institutions, and the structures on which a functioning society depends.  Pluto is interested in penetrating the core of the issue. It roots. And when it finds something that isn’t contributing to life anymore, it allows it to expire, so a new thing can be born in its place. This Capricornian Pluto is probing what within the collective has become ill and unbalanced. Pluto is the gatekeeper of Hades, and governs the cycle of death, and rebirth. He brings what is teeming below the surface of our unconscious up into the light of day to be purged, detoxified, assimilated and integrated. Collectively we are in the birth canal, experiencing the pangs of labor. It can be incredibly difficult during these times to stay open hearted and not melt into a pool of suffering, indulging our fears and insecurities. Our natural inclination is to resist the experience. But this resistance makes metamorphosis all the more harrowing. However, if we can stay awake, in a state of vulnerable presence, and uncover the undeveloped parts of ourselves Pluto will help them evolve into gems of wholeness.

Pluto and Uranus are two of the three Transpersonal planets. As Pluto roots downwards, Uranus’ ascends branching up and out. Combined with Neptune as the unifier, they create the toroidal structure of the tree of life. Cycling us through eternity. We are undoubtedly at the threshold of an evolutionary gateway.

And so beloveds, the Planetary Priestess is asking each of us what we can do to alchemize the river below? What frequency are you transmitting in these days of electrifying transformation? What daily practice are you cultivating to bring in more presence to help you ground into the truth of your divinity? And what things are you sacrificing on the alter in service to love?

A Large Ruby Inscribed With A Prayer

A beautiful dream that comes true. Conceiving in your heart that a fresh life current is here to be met in the physical. Being magnetized to the spot where the New Earth arises. You feel deeply drawn to give yourself over completely to what the new life-wave asks. Sensing acutely that this all that counts, and suffering for all of those who are shut off from the bounty. Knowing how hard it is to feel dejected and forsaken, and never forgetting the ache, the longing, the distances, and what it takes to earnestly clasp new life and realize you belong to the heavenly kingdom in the Earth and will never again be out in the cold.
