The force of love and freedom. Shift of the Nodal Axis

There are so many different schools of interpretation regarding the Nodal Axis of the Moon. I’ll try and present an amalgamation of the different interpretations here….

Firstly, there is a general consensus among astrologers that The Nodal Axis is an important part of our collective evolution. The Nodes act as places we are editing our personal and collective narrative. The narrative that drives evolution. Eclipses happen along these points.

The Nodes continually invite us to meet the isness of life, and respond to it. We can learn a lot about ourselves and our ingrained patterns (Moon) through observing how we respond to what is arising in the moment.

In our natal chart, the South Node reveals how have we come to know ourselves as a souls. Our familiar patterns. It serves as the vehicle for our incarnation’s evolutionary lessons. It is a lens or filter through which we are internalizing and integrating our experience. The filter through which we engaged with our evolutionary purpose.

The natal North Node reveals how we are to expand and grow. What needs to be integrated to come to a place of evolutionary wholeness and balance.

The South Node generally denotes a place we already have some mastery, and the North Node where we need to develop a more holistic sense of mastery. In other words, the South Node can look a lot like Karma, and the North Node; Dharma.

Or we can look at them as points of accumulation (North Node) and Purging (South Node). Purging here refers to the purging of Karma. And accumulation is the accumulation of knew knowledge and new pathways of how we move through the world.

Moving out of automatic, ingrained responses, and choosing a new way to meet life.

The transiting Nodes (where they are currently) in the sky shows us what will be arising. Our co-creative evolutionary task, is in how we respond.

This month, the nodes are changing signs, from Taurus/Scorpio, to Aries/Libra.

Aries encapsulates the “I am” or what I call “the essence self”, it is the initial divine spark.

Ruled by Mars, it is passionate, impulsive, instinctive, intuitive, strong, compelling, bombastic, instigating,

It’s also a place of severance. Where we leave the unified waters of Pisces, and receive our individual spark of life.

Libra is yes, about love, and relationship. It’s highest exoteric lesson is around attunement. How we attune to people and our immediate environment.

Ruled by Venus it is concerned with feeling, balance, and how we connect with others.

A shadow side of Libra is Codependency, people pleasing, and the desire for archetypal purity.

This axis is ultimately about our connection to each other and to life itself.

I recorded some of my thoughts about this evolutionary turning in the video in the comments.

These are always very important moments of shift for the collective. It’s imperative, in my view, that we understand the lessons the Nodes are presenting, if our goal is to keep society healthy and thriving.

In this case, the freedom to “be ourselves” while maintaining the capacity to be in connection.

I love this art, to me it displays the honoring of the inner divine spark in all things, while staying in harmonious connection.

CAPRICORN FULL MOON

The Full Moon happens July 3rd 2023 at 7:39 am at 11 Degrees Capricorn.

The sign of Capricorn is all about growing up, maturing, and building our legacy.

It rules closed systems, ie governments, hierarchies, corporations etc. And it points to acculturation, conformity, and preserving tradition.

Ruled by Saturn, planet of responsibility, duty, conservation, and the refinement that comes through discipline, this Full Moon is asking us to wake up to the places we’ve been out of right relationship with these themes. It is my Rising Sign, and chart ruler, so I happen to have a deep relationship to this sign, and love her greater mysteries.

In additional to the listed themes, Capricorn also has a highly mystical side, that I've written about in the past. Unfortunately I don't cover the more esoteric meaning of Capricorn here. Though the Art offering by Bosschart offers some illumination.

As the Full Moon falls across the Cancer/Capricorn Axis, it asks us to look at the places we are burrowing into safety and comfort, and negating our calling to venture out into the world and quite literally “build our life’.

Where has the process of maturation stalled? Where are we stuck in adolescence, or inner child dynamics? Conversely, where are we in over-responsibility, lacking trust, and not allowing things to play out to their organic conclusions.

Squaring the Cancer/Capricorn Axis, are Aries and Libra, the signs of self and other. Me & my relationships.

Aries is keenly related to the identity, and the idea of being ensouled with the Divine Spark, along with inner authority, sovereignty, and freedom. This Full Moon is in a wide square to Chiron at 19 degrees Aries. In the Full Moon Transmission, I discuss the idea of identity, and the current wounding we find ourselves in the midst of regarding this “hot button” conversation.

Given that there is no Air, and no Mutable energy represented in the New Moon chart, I believe the energy will be hot, emotional, and perhaps a bit sticky. As Water, Earth, and Fire are all well represented.

*While I’d love for you to tune into the frequency of this Full Moon transmission, given that it discusses identity, it requires that we come to it as an adult. That we can be with nuanced conversations on gender and identity. If that is something you struggle with, or if you feel passionately about one side of the conversation, and have a hard time being with a more meta outlook, it may be best to sit this video transmission out. To be clear, I do not take the prevailing liberal, nor conservative, viewpoint on these issues Just as I approach everything else, I take the evolutionary, spiritual perspective.

Because July is such a big astrological month, I've created a running page of transmissions. Find the link in the comments.

Hope you enjoy.

Damascena Tanis

Damascena is an Archetypal Astrologer, Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and The Facilitator of the Transformative Journey through the Mandala of Venus’ Wisdom, called “Sky Dancer”.

She is a passionate devotee of the ever unfolding mystery. As an expert observer, a trait she developed as an only child, she regards herself as both a student of life, and decoder of the cosmos.

Skilled at recognizing invisible patterns, and picking up on subtle shifts in the collective, she gets a thrill from uncovering and revealing the hidden threads that are woven together to create our paradigm.

Her passion for this existential detective work aligns well with her unique approach to one on one client work, as she helps others to discover the building blocks of their archetypal blueprint, and mythic overtones. She does not believe that astrology is static, and therefore works with clients to develop strategies and practices that allow them to transcend challenging aspects of their natal chart.

She lives on the Shores of Lake Erie with her husband, four kids, and Cat, Oscar (the grouch).

These days, when she isn’t interpreting a natal chart, or translating the stars for her astrology blog, you can find her engaging in one of her favorite pandemic pastimes, unraveling her inner “good girl”, cultivating the ability to thrive in the deep, dark, unknown, or playing her favorite game of identifying fun paradoxes called “two things are true at once”.
